A 350 m² farmhouse restored by the family

The sitting room, the kitchen, the long table: the rooms where everyone ends up.

La Bervinière is an old farm that we restored ourselves. It is 350 m², set among the vines and the fields, a few minutes from Cheverny. It is a family house, not a hotel: the furniture has lived, the beams are original, and there are books everywhere.

The sitting room and its fireplace

The sitting room is 60 m². It has a large wood-burning fireplace, sofas, a big television and a games console. In winter we light the fire before you arrive, and the house is heated to 20 °C. We can warm the beds too.

The kitchen and the long table

The kitchen is fully fitted: gas range cooker, oven, dishwasher, freezer, blender, toaster, and three ways of making coffee (filter, espresso, cafetière). There is enough to cook for fourteen without borrowing a pan from the neighbour. A large tiled table sits in the middle of the room, with benches.

The dining room

The dining room seats ten. If there are more of you, tell us: we set up a long table for fourteen in the sitting room.

The history of the house

The farm is old. We restored it ourselves, room by room, keeping what was still sound: the beams, the terracotta floor tiles, the herringbone bricks in one of the bedrooms. The organic vines that surround the house are not ours, but they are part of the landscape, and you can visit the wine cellar at the end of the track.

On the ground floor there is also a large entrance hall, a utility room and a separate toilet.
